SMC (Sheet Molding Compound) is a kind of molding compound for manufacturing unsaturated polyester FRP products by dry process.
SMC adopts compression molding technology. A certain amount of molding compound is placed into matched metal molds and cured into finished products under set temperature, pressure and holding time.
In the SMC molding process, the mold temperature controller is customized according to the characteristics of compression molding materials. During compression molding, in order to achieve uniform curing of SMC and reduce thermal stress, a high-precision mold temperature controller is required for precise temperature control during mold heating.
After reaching the molding temperature, a period of heat preservation is also needed. In the whole temperature control process, the mold temperature controller shall feature high thermal efficiency, uniform heating and temperature distribution, accurate temperature control and fast heating rate.
